Yoshizku Iori from I”s

If you’re into romantic comedy, this manga is a must for you. Check it out at Onemanga.

I’ve been dead to this blog due to school becoming overbearing. It’s almost near the end and finals are right around the corner, but my workload hasn’t slacked off at all. Wish me luck, or I may have too much time on my hands all of a sudden.

Manga is much greater than anime. Hands down.

Alright, maybe that’s a little unfair. Anime can be much more entertaining. But at the same time, I know when I read a manga chapter that if I’m disappointed at the end because they dragged something out, at least it didn’t waste 20 FREAKIN MINUTES. God. I can deal with having to waste a couple minutes to read a crappy chapter. But episode after episode of long drawn out crap really irks me. I can especially see how apparent it is in anime such as Naruto and Bleach. These two are notorious for having long scenes of people’s faces coming across the camera over and over, then maybe after 3 minutes one of them will grimace and make a funny noise. OH THE SUSPENSE.

Then again, there’s also the fact that some manga is never turned into anime. But ssh. I don’t want to sound too biased.

It’s almost that time of year again. Snow is on the ground and cheer in the air. Christmas time is here.

I’ve managed to get all of my shopping done mostly through online means, though I ordered my sister the FMA box set and am not sure if it will arrive in time (backordered). Besides that, everything should be good. I hope you have/had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

About the manga! I’ve found that watching Bleach after Bleach episode is getting really boring, as the animation isn’t anything spectacular and they tend to fill regular episodes with dumb crap for half of it to draw those out even longer too. So I decided to read the Bleach manga instead. I’m much more satisfied, as there isn’t any crap in it and the artwork exceeds the episodes IMO. I’ve read manga before this, but very casually and randomly. I really need to update my list on the side of anime and mangas I’ve been reading/watching because I definitely have, and haven’t been commenting. I’ll also give an update on the ones I said I was watching before in a sec. Anyway. The main focus of the manga reading right now is Tenjou Tenge, which can be found at Onemanga. It’s a mature anime (meaning nudity, I warned you) but the story is keeping me interested and the fights are fairly easy to follow. The story is starting to confuse me though (I’m around Chapter 60 or so). Still, I’d recommend it to anyone who is mature enough to read it and is looking for a good read.

The New York Anime Festival fell through this year. People ended up not coming, classes ended and too much alcohol was consumed (by others, not me). Not wanting to venture into the land of cosplay by myself, I cowered in my room.

Here are some updates on the series I had started-

You’re Under Arrest- Dropped. Got boring. :/

Myself; Yourself– Still watching it. Still good.

Shakugan no Shana II– Still good. STILL has boring relationship stuff though.

Clannad– Sad, but still really good.

Da Capo– Put on hold until I have further time to watch it. It’s not marked with heavy importance to me right now.

Naruto: Shippuuden – This series has actually started to be interesting again! It’s amazing. What an underdog move. I look forward to each episode that comes out now.

That’s all for now! Again, have a Merry Christmas/Happy New Year and/or whatever else you are celebrating. I’ll be sure to post more soon as I’ll be home…and bored. Thus, the only place to turn is teh interweb. Ja.

Oho. Wait. I forgot a picture. Hmmmm.

tmpphprha9af.jpg
Rin and Saber say Merry Christmas2u.

Though busy. Some quick points and resizing of pictures.

The Bleach manga is much better than the anime. I’m almost considering not downloading the episodes unless I know it’s serious and well animated.

Though I haven’t updated my list, I’ve watched a few more animes. Been bouncing around trying to find a good one. New ones I’ve started are-

You’re Under Arrest: Full Throttle (Meh)

Myself; Yourself (Good)

Shakugan No Shana II (Looks promising, but has yet to get to anything really climactic. Stupid relationship stuff)

Da Capo (Not really new, but I’m still starting it)

Clannad (Gold)

And on another note, I absolutely hate Magna Carta. The battle system sucks, and the story isn’t anything special so far. Atrocious voice acting. Nice art though.

Anime festival in a month.

Play more DotA. I’ve been playing since before Allstars, but on and off for the past 2 years or so. Yet, I can still go 10-0 as PA in the first 25 mins. I ended up grabbing an MKB and a DD rune, then get 1400 crits on their team, causing the host to accuse me of maphacking (no clue how that would have even helped me that game, as whenever I killed them they were in plain sight of my creeps), then custom kicked and banned me.

Wow.

Host needs to L2P. Seriously. I’ll probably upload the replay on Dota-allstars and post the link here.

Synopsis –
M×0 centers around a young man named Kuzumi Taiga who has a hot-headed temper and is able to hold his own in a fight. During an interview to determine if he can attend Seinagi Private High School (私立聖凪高校 Shiritsu Seinagi Kōkō?) that he had plans of joining, Taiga is asked what he would do if he could use magic. “Take over the world” is his reply and it is quickly followed by an outburst of laughter from a very cute girl. Upon confronting the girl, she realizes how rude it was of her to laugh at his answer and tries to apologize, ultimately grasping his hands with tears in her eyes. After that point, he does not remember much else about the interview, but one thing he cannot change: he failed to enter the school. Blaming the girl for his failing to enter the school, he goes to Seinagi to confront her about it, when a teacher mistakes Taiga for a student ditching class and pulls him through some type of strange energy barrier that surrounds the school. Without realizing what has just happened, he has set foot on a school dedicated to teaching its students how to use magic, though the shock of his first encounter with it freaks him out so much that he tries to get away from the teacher as fast as he can, effectively convincing the latter that he is a suspicious person. After a confrontation where he is hit with a rather odd spell, he is able to tie the teacher up and run away. Unfortunately, he gets into some more trouble with some upperclassman and during this time is surprised to have found the girl from the interview attending the school. His main priority is then changed from merely survival in a strange land to finding this girl and conveying his feelings of romantic attraction to her, which have most suddenly become clear to him.

Before long, however, he runs into the same teacher from before and has yet another fight with him. All the teacher wants to do is erase his memory of the school in order to keep the place a secret from the outside world, but Taiga still has to tell the girl how he feels. During the fight, despite not knowing any magic whatsoever, Taiga dodges the teacher’s attacks and by some dumb luck subdues the teacher once again, completely incapacitating him. At this point, who should appear but the girl he’s been searching for, who screams out to her father who was just beaten by Taiga. Angry at what he’s done, the girl, whose name is Hiiragi Aika, uses her own magic and blows him away.

Later on, due to various circumstances surrounding strict rules of the school, Taiga is admitted into the school but with only one difference from all the other students: he can’t use magic. He must now try to survive in a school of magic and try to fool the entire school that he’s a powerful mage at the same time. – Wikipedia

I got sucked in like Taiga. I was like…”Sure, I’ll check out the first one or two chapters and see how it goes.” Then I saw Aika pleading for Taiga to not be mad at her. Holy god. Besides the obvious fact that Aika is an angel, the story is amusing and interesting at the same time. And for some reason, I always find the main girl’s best friend cuter than see is. For example, Hashiba Miki instead of Suzuka. (Or Honoka.) In this case, it’s Mikuni.

It’s at 52 chapters and ongoing, so catch up so you can keep up with it as it goes! As always, Onemanga it.

Ah, I’ve been wanting to review this anime for a while, as I finished it as soon as the last episode came out. Just been too lazy to type it up. I’ll say this right away though. This anime is nothing short of spectacular.

Synopsis – Yagami Light is an ace student with great prospects, who’s bored out of his mind. One day he finds the “Death Note”: a notebook from the realm of the Death Gods, with the power to kill people in any way he desires. With the Death Note in hand, Light decides to create his perfect world, without crime or criminals. However, when criminals start dropping dead one by one, the authorites send the legendary detective L to track down the killer, and a battle of wits, deception and logic ensues…

This anime is a logical plot based mind screw with less action than your average anime, but that doesn’t stop it from having you on your seat second guessing what’s coming up. Be warned – you need to start watching this if you haven’t. Also…make sure you have an ample amount of time or a strong resistance to watching them back to back. I, along with most of my friends, started this and couldn’t stop till we blew through (at least) the first 10 episodes.

I really can’t talk much more about it without giving stuff away, so go see it for yourself! It’s licensed now, so it’ll be harder to find if you want it for free. I don’t see Veoh having the complete collection, but there are random episodes dotted there. Your best bet would be to just buy it :X

Synopsis –

Riiko Izawa has never had a boyfriend and she has been rejected by every boy she has ever had a crush on. When she returns a lost cell phone to an oddly dressed salesman, he directs her to his company’s website as a way to thank her. Riiko unwittingly ends up ordering a “figure” which will be her boyfriend with the intention of returning him after the free three day trial order.

After her three-day trial is over, Riiko finds that she cannot return her perfect mail-order boyfriend (whom she has named “Night”) and is stuck with a bill for 100,000,000 yen (approximately 1 million USD). The mysterious salesman, Namikiri Gaku, tells her the company will waive the bill if she will help them collect data about women’s feelings, and data about their mental and physical structures in order to perfect future “Nightly Lover” models.

Unbeknownst to Riiko, her next-door neighbor and childhood friend, Sōshi Asamoto, has a crush on her which he strives to hide by frequently teasing her. He has promised her mother that he will watch over Riiko while her parents are away, and when he sees Riiko with her new “boyfriend,” his jealousy creates the central love triangle of the series.

Riiko must keep Night’s true nature of an inhuman being a secret from everyone around her while struggling to decide if she loves Night, despite being a “figure” who seems to be developing true emotions, or Sōshi, who has loved her since childhood. – Wikipedia

A semi-short manga (33 chapters), I found this entertaining but somewhat….lame at the same time. While it’s great that they try to play off the normal love triangle effect, this isn’t really fair in my opinion as Night is a figure, not a human. It’s an good romance manga to check out regardless, as it’ll provoke some thoughts about morality. Check it out at Onemanga as always.

Spoilers if you read on. I warned you o_O

Suzuka v17 is to be released on the 17th of August. As from – http://anime-horizon.blogspot.com/.

Couldn’t pass up the opportunity to post a pic of Miki in swimwear.

Yes SIR! Man living over here has it’s benefits, as I get to go to DigitalLife this coming month, which I went to once before, and that was a blast. We got to mess around with stuff before it came out (Company of Heroes, Guitar Hero II, Final Fantasy XII) and have a great time overall for about 4$. Definitely worth the price.

Now today I come across a small bit of news that mentioned the New York Anime Festival. I’m excited and scared at the same time. While it’s an anime convention that I can actually go to, which won’t be as big as something like Otakon, it will doubtlessly still have masses of cosplayers. I may have mentioned this before, but….cosplay scares the SHIT out of me. I gave an e-cookie to the one girl who cosplayed Haruhi successfully, but still. 99% of them are scary ><. All is well though, as I have a group of friends like me who watch anime/read manga casually. Perhaps if we go together we can ward of all scary cosplayers and enjoy the convention. Check out the website. It looks very promising as of right now. Then again, I only say this because I live across the river from NYC and it’s at the exact same place as DigitalLife. God, living here has some damn nice benefits sometimes. Did I mention that?

Abstract post, but related to anime. Score! Chance to post picture of Hashiba Miki :D

Manga series, here’s the synopsis-

A young man finds and returns a lost wallet and cell phone to a beautiful young lady, thus begins the destined relationship between two strangers. Sound typical? Well then, how about making the young lady the young man’s future homeroom teacher, and give them both a twisted sense of right and wrong. And just for kicks, let’s have the young man help himself to a self proclaimed reward from the lost wallet before returning it…but of course, this scenario wouldn’t be complete unless the young lady was very unforgiving when it came to teaching one of her students a lesson on morals.

If you liked Please Teacher, this is somewhat similar. But. She’s not an alien, they aren’t married, this is Korea and it’s not mutual…riiight. Well, to say the least, I’ve found this one damn entertaining, and I make sure to keep up on this one, along with Sekirei.

Check it out at Onemanga UnbalanceX2.
